Students' Newspaper Series Wins Award

A series of newspaper articles about old Chico neighborhoods that was published in the Enterprise-Record and produced by Chico State University journalism students has won a national award.  

The “Hoods with a history” series, reported and written by professor Dave Waddell’s public affairs reporting class and published in the E-R in February 2010, was recognized this month in St. Louis at the annual convention of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.  The Chico State students’ stories received an honorable mention plaque in the association’s Newspaper Project Award competition.  The full article can be read here
