Parking Citations

University Police will issue citations for the following reasons:

   1.Parking without a permit
   2.Parking in lots other than those authorized by the decal purchased
   3.Parking in 'No Parking areas,' sidewalks, and other improper places
   4.Parking in loading zones more than 15 minutes.

CSU Chico Citation Payments are processed by Parking Management Bureau (PMB).

Payments (checks or money orders payable to PMB) are to be mailed to:

Please include your citation number(s) with your check.

Credit Card payments will by accepted over the phone between 7:30 am and 3:00 pm, Monday-Friday by calling (800) 700-4417.

To contest a citation, the procedure is:

First Level Review - Obtain a parking citation appeal in the lobby of the University Police Department or from the website. The appeal form must be completed and received at UPD within 21 days of the citation date. The original citation must be attached to this appeal form.

Administrative Review - An Administrative Review may be requested only if the first level review has been completed and the person is dissatisfied with the results. This request must be made within 21 calendar days of receiving the results of the first level review, or no longer than the 21 calendar days from the postmark if results are delivered by mail. The person must contact PMB at the customer service phone number (800) 700-4417 to schedule a hearing.

Judicial Review - An appeal of the Hearing Officers decision may be made to the North Butte County Superior Court, 655 Oleander Ave., Chico, within 30 days of the decision being rendered by the Hearing Officer, if the hearing was in person, or of the date of mailing of the decision, if the hearing was by mail. The person will be required to pay a filing fee of $25 which will be refunded if the person prevails.
