Konkow Mathematics and Science House

CSU, Chico freshman find on-campus residence halls to be an ideal place to live. Unfortunately, given the recent increase in enrollment, on-campus housing demands are high and space is limited.

Fortunately, freshman participants in Project MATH are guaranteed housing in Konkow Residence Hall.

Freshman accepted into Project MATH are offered a bed in the Konkow Mathematics and Science House. Konkow boasts six units of apartment-style living, each including a huge kitchen, living room, and dining room shared by only 14 people. One of these is the Mathematics and Science House.

Residents in this house will be provided with in-house tutoring and personalized academic advising. Residents will be guaranteed registration in selected sections of appropriate mathematics courses so they may take classes with each other. We have found that the combination of living with like minded students, receiving academic support, and taking courses as a cohort helps students be highly successful in what can be a very challenging first year. This program will have special appeal as there are more incoming freshmen than available beds in university housing.
