There are many new professional development opportunities in mathematics for teachers in the northstate.
Teacher Leadership Academy (TLA)
The TLA is back! This year the program will take participant ideas and build the workshop around commonly suggested ideas. The sessions will be participant-centered as teachers form working groups around these topics. Bring your ideas and sign up soon for this popular program. Mathematics in the EArly Grades (MEG)
This is a three-year program of workshops, coaching, and collaboration available to Pre K - 2nd grade teachers from Cascade, Red Bluff, and Orland Unified School Districts. Additional information and applications are available here.
Textbook Adoption Workshop "Building Foundations for Mathematical Proficiency by 2014" February 25, 2008
A day of examining the diversity of Intervention, Algebra Readiness, and Basic K-8 programs available in the mathematics adoption. Appropriate for all school districts, teams of teachers and administrators encouraged to attend. Additional information and applications available here.
Mathematics Professional Learning Communities (MPLC)
This three-year program is open to teachers in Butte County schools, grades 3-7. Topics covered will be aimed at developing algebraic thinking in the K-7 curriculum and proportional reasoning across the content areas. Additional information coming soon.
