K-8 Mathematics—The Big Picture
This Big Picture institute is for all K-8 teachers. So what is the big picture? Close your eyes and try to imagine the three main math ideas at your grade level. Is this easy or hard to do, given the vast number of standards you are expected to cover during the year?
In this one week institute, we will try to make this easier to do, but more importantly, useful for your teaching! In this institute, we will focus on numbers and operations.
By looking at some fun activities we will explore some key components of number sense to answer the questions of where it starts, where it goes and what comes next.
