Internships
Perhaps the single most powerful experience in a students’ undergraduate preparation for teaching, the senior year teaching internship is the culmination of the Project M.A.T.H. experience.
Interns are paired and assigned to teach one of the universities remedial mathematics classes. They spend the week before classes working collaboratively and under the direction of a mathematics faculty member to prepare for the class. During the semester, interns are responsible for running the class, holding office hours, and assigning grades. Twice a week, the interns meet as a group with the supervising faculty member. This faculty member also observes the classes and provides weekly feedback to the interns.
Students who have worked as teaching interns have cited this as their most important undergraduate experience. To top it all off, interns are paid around $1500 per semester

Annual Project M.A.T.H. / Math and Science House Canoe Trip
Building a community of learners requires more than just hard work. Project M.A.T.H. participants enjoy social activities as well.

The river was beautiful and the weather warm for the trip.

Project M.A.T.H. students also get involved in the Math Club.
