Financial Aid and Scholarships

We strongly encourage all current and prospective students to apply for a scholarship or financial aid to attend California State University, Chico.
Many university scholarships are open to all students regardless of their area of study. Students may also obtain program scholarships within their particular subject area. Learn more about university scholarships and procedures.

In addition, students interested in teaching mathematics or science have several special scholarship and loan programs that are also available.

Math Science Scholarships

Currently, the Teacher Recruitment Program (TRP) in conjunction with the Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) at California State University, Chico is focused on recruiting students to become math and science teachers. They have a special scholarship program that awards scholarships up to $2,000. Check back here later to Download a TRP scholarship application. Deadline: in March, 2011.

Robert Noyce Scholarships

Noyce Scholarships are designed to encourage talented math, science and engineering majors and professionals to enter into the teaching profession. Each Noyce Scholar can receive up to two years of scholarships with stipends of $10,000 per year. Noyce Scholars will be selected by consideration of academic achievement, under-representation and financial need. APLE Loan Program

The Assumption Program of Loans for Education (APLE) program in particular forgives as much as $19,500 in student loans to students who become California math and science teachers. Find out more about the APLE program and to see a complete listing of teacher shortage academic areas.
