GLEAMS Lesson Study Project 2018-2020

The Growth through Lesson Study for Equity & Access in Math & Science (GLEAMS) is a two-year grant-funded program that kicks off this August. In GLEAMS, most of your professional growth will occur in small grade-level learning groups, facilitated by a Math or Science education expert familiar with the powerful, teacher-centered practice of “lesson study”. There will also be one all-GLEAMS meeting every Summer (2018, 2019, and 2020) to bring together all 70 North State K-12 teachers who will participate in GLEAMS.

A participant’s time commitment to GLEAMS consists of:

(1) 16 hours per year of outside-of class meeting time with a small professional learning team;

(2) 2 sub days per year (with sub costs paid for by the project); and

(3) A workshop in each of Summer 2018, 2019, and 2020

If you attend all of the above, you will receive a $1,000 total stipend for your participation.

As planned, the required kick-off workshop is August 1st (full day) and August 2nd (morning only) at Chico State University.
