Science of Earth in Balance and Science in Balance with Common Core

Includes all grades K-12
- Common Core ELA and Math Standards and Next Generation Science Standards: Focus on Science in the English Language Arts and Math Common Core Standards
- Life Science: Balancing Energy Use - Plants and Animals: Homeostasis - Feedback Mechanisms; Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide balance – it’s more than just producers and consumers, Photosynthesis, Respiration, AND Decomposition
- Physical Sciences: Balancing Forces, Atmospheric Pressure and Weather, Currents and Temperature, Balancing Chemical Reactions, Equations and Equilibrium
- Earth Science: Balancing Cycles, Water cycle, Carbon cycle, Tectonics
Teacher Stipends $400 for all days; No program cost; 2 units of credit available ($60/ea).
$50 refundable deposit to hold your registration spot

Floodplain Ecology -- K-12 Teachers
**CURRENTLY FULL - ACCEPTING FOR WAITING LIST**
- Instructional Materials: Handouts and lesson plans, the excellent new Project WET curriculum guide
- Raft Trip on the Sac River: study restoration of the river and the impact of flood control designs
- Network: priceless contacts and valuable connections to other teachers of science
- Common Core: Standards in English Language Arts will be integrated throughout; reading comprehension strategies, academic writing and discourse for EL will be included using adopted instructional materials.
PROGRAM PENDING FUNDING: Teacher Stipend $250 for all days/fall included; No program cost.

Early Access to Science for Youngsters
Explore Science Literacy:Combine Science with Common Core Language Arts Standards
- Focus on writing in science, reading for information, science inquiry activities, engaging in dialogue using evidence, and building literacy for grades K-3.
- Integrate Science into the Common Core Standards for English Language Arts
- Integrate Science into the Common Core Standards for Mathematics
- Learn how to use our Library of Instructional Materials that includes: National Geographic Kits, K-5 Hands-On Lab curriculum, and Seeds of Science Roots of Reading Kits
Teacher Stipend $250 for all days/fall included; No program cost; 2 units of credit available ($60/ea).
