Subject Matter Credentials

These programs are designed to prepared students interested in becoming secondary math or science teachers. Prospective teachers must complete one of the subject matter programs below before entering a credential program for teacher certification. If the subject matter program is not CCTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) approved, the candidate must also pass the CSET test in the subject. These degree programs are part of the offerings of the mathematics and science departments.

B.S. Biological Sciences - General Biology Option

B.S. Chemistry plus additional course work (CCTC Approved)

B.S. Geosciences - Option in Science Education

B.S. Physics - General Physics Option (CCTC Approved)

B.S. Mathematics - Mathematics Education Option (CCTC Approved)
