Subject Matter Credentials
The College of Natural Sciences offers undergraduate degree programs for future middle and high school science and mathematics teachers. Single subject waiver programs are offered in each of the science disciplines as well as in mathematics. Please see the links to each of the individual programs and also contact the appropriate department to find out the faculty who do advising for future teachers. Also listed is a link to the Single Subject Teacher Credential Program. Chico State, through its programs and proper advising, prides itself in providing a seamless transition from an undergraduate program through completion of a credential pattern. Prospective teachers must complete a CCTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) approved waiver program or pass the appropriate CSET exams before entering a credential program for teacher certification.
