Application Instructions

This form is a Microsoft Word fill-in form. Please complete the form electronically. You can then print and deliver it to the CNAP office inbox (25 Main St, Ste 101, see map here) or you can submit it by e-mail to the CNAP Internship Coordinator (contact information below). Please note that we do require a resume to accompany any new internship application form. Incomplete applications will be returned to the applicant. Applicants will not be considered until a complete application and resume are submitted. If your completed application is submitted after the deadline, your application may not be considered until the next semester.

You will receive a confirmation e-mail within 3 business days of application submission. If you do not receive a confirmation, contact the CNAP Internship Coordinator (contact information below) immediately.

Depending on the number of qualified applicants and the number of positions available, you may be placed on a waiting list. If internships become available, we will contact applicants on the waiting list first.

We encourage you to visit our other web sites at http://www.scnac.org and http://www.optforhealthyliving.org to get familiar with what our programs have to offer. If you have any questions about CNAP student internships, contact the CNAP Internship Coordinator.

CNAP Staff Meet and Greet

New intern applicants are required to attend the CNAP Staff Meet and Greet. Applicants will have the opportunity to meet all supervisors and hear about the different programs for which we are accepting interns. Come prepared to share a little about yourself and the experiences you hope to gain through an internship with the Center.

For Summer Internships

During the summer, interns cannot receive units unless enrolled and paying for a summer school internship class at CSU Chico. If an intern would like to receive units for a summer internship, CNAP will help facilitate this process during the first two weeks of summer.  If an intern would prefer to not sign up for units (not pay summer school fees) s/he must complete a volunteer form due to liability concerns.  Regardless of whether or not the intern is receiving units, the summer internship still meets CNAP requirements for future employment.

For Future Employment

CNAP requires students to do a minimum of: 1) 135 internship hours (3 units) in one semester or 2) 90 internship hours each semester for two consecutive semesters (totaling 4 units) to be considered for longer-term paid employment. All applicants must provide a minimum availability of 10 hours per week (Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm) and complete an interview to be considered. In rare cases, we may be able to pay an applicant prior to the completion of required internship hours on a special need/ special skill basis.
