Accreditation & Rankings

Accreditation:  Mark of Excellence for the entire College of Business

The College of Business at California State University, Chico is one of just 15 percent of all business schools in the world that meet the rigorous standards for accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB International).

Accredited by AACSB International since 1972, the high quality of our academic programs, faculty, and student services was reconfirmed after the most recent review in 2012. A review is conducted on all accredited business schools every five years to ensure that continuous improvement occurs. Our program has been consistently accredited due to the attention we give to strategic planning, assurance of learning, our programs of distinction, and ensuring that students have access to high quality academic and co-curricular experiences. We ensure that students are taught by highly qualified instructors, while also offering students numerous opportunities for professional and personal growth.

Beyond AACSB Accreditation

  • Our MBA program was included in Princeton's Review The Best Business Schools, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 editions.
  • Our Seufferlein Sales Program was rated as one of the “Top University Sales Programs” in the University Sales Education’s annual listings.
  • Our Human Resource Management program is accredited by the Society for Human Resource Management, the premier professional association in the field.
  • Our students consistently win or place at regional and national competitions (e.g., Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group Trading Challenge; The Future 4 & More Entrepreneurship Competition; Sweet 16 Sales Competition; Western Regional Sales Competition; and the Collegiate Wind Competition).
  • Our students sit for, and successfully pass a variety of certification exams including public accounting (second highest CPA pass rate amongst our peers), project management, finance, sustainability management, and enterprise information systems (SAP TERP 10).
