The Department of Accounting develops and delivers curriculum that leads to an undergraduate degree in:
- Business Administration (BADM) with an option in Accounting (ACCT)
Degree Options and Course Patterns
Students who seek a degree in Accounting will follow the Professional Accounting curriculum, which meets the requirements for students who want to enter career paths desiring CPA (Certified Public Accountant). For those students who intend on becoming CPA’s, we offer a Professional Accounting Certificate; a 30 unit certificate that addresses the 150 hour rule in quality manner. The certificate is to be taken concurrently (as opposed to post-bac) with the BADM-ACCT degree. The department has had a 100% career placement record for students.
Many Chico Professional Accounting students work for national, regional or local public accounting firms or for government agencies such as the IRS or California Franchise Board.
