Teaching/Research
Dr. Gardiner joined the CSU, Chico business faculty in 2002 and has taught a variety of courses in Management Information Systems. She was recognized by the College of Business in 2006 for her teaching excellence.
Her research interests include business intelligence and data warehousing, virtual teams, and multiple criteria decision making. Dr. Gardiner has published her work in a variety of journals, including Decision Sciences, European Journal of Operational Research, Group Decision and Negotiation, Interfaces, Journal of Multicriteria Decision Analysis, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and Managerial and Decision Economics. She has presented her research at numerous conferences organized by the Association of European Operational Research Societies (EURO), Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS), Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), International Federation of Operational Research (IFORS), and International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making, among others.
Dr. Gardiner has delivered presentations for the CMC Graduate School of Business (Czech Republic), Carleton University (Canada), and Systems Research Institute (Polish Academy of Sciences) and was an invited researcher at the Université de Paris.
Since her arrival at CSU, Chico, Dr. Gardiner has taken a leadership position in the development of new data warehouse/business intelligence curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels using Excel, SAP Business Warehouse, and SAP Strategic Enterprise Management tools. For the last three years, she has conducted faculty workshops related to this work at the SAP Innovation Congress (2005-2007) and in the SAP Alliance Summer Workshops (2005-2007).
