Dr. Meuter joined the CSU, Chico business faculty in 2000. Since that time he has taught a variety of courses in the areas of E-Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Survey of Marketing, Services Marketing, and Web Localization. He has received numerous honors for his teaching and research, including: The Chico Rotary Educator of the Year Award (2007), The CSU, Chico College of Business Research Excellence Award (Spring 2007), The College of Business Service Excellence Award (Spring 2006), The CSU, Chico Outstanding Teacher Nominee (Fall 2005), The College of Business Outstanding Faculty Award (2002/2003), and the Sigma Kappa Teacher of the Week (Fall 2006).
Dr. Meuter’s research interests include exploring customer use of technology and what impacts the customer experience with firms, with a focus on the intersection of technology and marketing (customer use and acceptance of technology, satisfaction with Self-Service Technologies, waiting time and download delays, electronic loyalty, and the overall implementation, utilization and management of technology within firms). Secondary interests include; general services marketing areas (satisfaction, service quality, loyalty) and pedagogical research issues (incorporation of technology in the classroom, effective teaching methods). Dr. Meuter’s research has been published in numerous journals, including; the Journal of Marketing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Service Research, Journal of Services Marketing, International Journal of Media Management, Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Marketing Theory & Practice, and the Journal of Management Education.
Dr. Meuter serves as a consultant for numerous companies who seek his expertise in the area of technology and the customer experience, including; AT & T, Lucent Technologies, AdvancePCS Health Systems, Arizona Department of Commerce, and other companies with both international and local markets.
