Teaching/Research
Dr. Misra joined the Chico State faculty in 1985. He teaches international marketing, marketing strategy, and consumer behavior courses and has served as chair of the Department of Finance and Marketing, 2002-2009. His research interests are primarily in the area of international marketing, consumer behavior, and human decision making. Dr. Misra has published dozens of articles, including articles in leading journal such as The Journal of Advertising, Journal of Marketing Education, and The Journal of Business Research. He has been recognized for outstanding research as the recipient of the “Best Paper Award” and has been named CSU, Chico "Researcher of the Year" on multiple occasions. Dr. Misra has been actively involved in campus governance, representing the College of Business on the Chico State Academic Senate, the Educational Policies and Procedures Committee, and General Education Design Team. He has also taught as a Visiting Faculty in Spain, Italy, China, and India.
