Teaching/Research
Joining the Chico State faculty in 2007, Heinze currently serves as director of the Professional Sales Program at Chico State. Additionally, he teaches various marketing courses including Survey of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, International Marketing, and Marketing Strategy. He has won the Service Excellence and Teaching Excellence awards presented by the College of Business at Chico State. Additionally, he was given the National Society of Leadership and Success’ Excellence in Teaching award. Prior to joining the College of Business, he chaired the Department of Business Administration at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, PA. He has also held various marketing and sales positions at Ford Motor Company, American Telecast Corporation, and Transfer Flow International Corporation. His research interests include personal selling ethics, Generation Y advertising, and the marketing of corporate sustainability efforts. He has published multiple peer-reviewed papers in journals such as the Journal of Marketing Education, Journal of Business & Economics Research, Journal of Business and Leadership: Research, Practice, and Teaching, Business Journal for Entrepreneurs and Research in Consumer Behavior. Heinze has also been involved in consulting and has assisted non-profit marketing associations and economic redevelopment groups. Additionally, he has led workshops for the TEOS Leadership Conference, Community Builders, and the Women’s Economic Outreach Tour.
