Joining the CSU, Chico business faculty in 1983, Dr. McDonald has taught courses in the areas of organizational management, human resources management, and managing diversity, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research interests focus on the areas of human resource management, organizational behavior, and spirituality in the workplace. Her articles have appeared in The Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Managerial Psychology, and Journal of Applied Social Psychology. In 1993, she was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Mauritius. Dr. McDonald’s current passion is in the area of managing for sustainability. She spearheaded and teaches in the Department of Management’s Minor in Managing for Sustainability and serves as the advisor for CSU, Chico chapter of Net Impact. She organized the Chico Sustainable Business Network and is currently working with the director of the CSU, Chico Institute for Sustainable Development and was selected to edit a CSU system-wide monograph titled Social Responsibility and Sustainability: Multidisciplinary Perspectives through Service Learning. She is a member of the University’s Environmental Summit and in the summer of 2007 served as a consultant in Iceland on a project designed to bring eco-tourism to economically-challenged fishing villages.
