Under the supervision of a faculty mentor, a 24-student team designed a system to replace the grants management software previously used by the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at CSU, Chico. The system compiles pre-award information currently tracked in numerous excel spreadsheets into one comprehensive data base, thus eliminating duplicate entry. The system also provides new and enhanced reporting capabilities, provides a complete history of each award from proposal submission through contract negotiations, and improves efficiency in tracking and managing workflow.
