The Federal Biosciences Industry Skills Standards Project ran from 1993-98 and focused on skills standards for entry-level bioscience technicians.  These were industry-generated and industry-validated.  In particular, the "Job Function and Tasks of a Bioscience Specialist I"  are important and have direct bearing upon community college technician training programs and undergraduate specializations and certificate programs.  Students at all degree levels wanting a glimpse of what transpires in a wet-bench environment in biocommerce or academia will benefit from its careful perusal.
