CSUPERB
has initiated a CSU Stem Cell Task Force. The task force
will be identifying programs for development and for special
funding including strategies for acquisition of Prop 71
resources. The task force is now beginning to discuss the
opportunities for conducting specialized workshops in stem
cell isolation, culture and utilization as well as ancillary
courses, e.g., in social, legal, and ethical implications,
etc. Interested parties who
would like to participate in the Task Force should contact
palfano@sciences.sdsu.edu.
Mission
Statement
The
Stem Cell Taskforce is a working group of the CSU Program
for Education and Research in Biotechnology. The goal of
the Taskforce is to increase awareness; educate students,
faculty and the public; develop training programs promote
collaboration; and monitor state-wide efforts in stem cell
research.
