The CSU Biotechnology Symposium will be held January 11 - 13, 2008 at the Oakland Marriott City Center [map]. This is the 20th symposium organized and sponsored by CSUPERB and is attended by over 700 students,
faculty and administrators from across the system.
CSU students and faculty presenting any biotechnology-related project are invited to attend and present posters. The symposium highlights include two poster sessions (200 posters total) featuring undergraduate, masters’
and doctoral
research projects.
This year, Saturday’s plenary session will feature speakers addressing “Current Applications of Protein
Engineering.” On Friday a special session about the “Interface between Computer Science and
Biotechnology” will be held. Also on Friday, students can participate in a networking event featuring the many
biotechnology career paths available. On Sunday, the CSUPERB Faculty Consensus Group meets and the
California Community College Biotechnology Faculty Workshop is being planned.
