Roberta is a Chico State graduate and has more than 7 years of professional web-development experience at CSU, Chico, the last 3 of which as the Web Development Lead of the department. Her areas of expertise include website and application development, database development, web standards, usability, and web accessibility. She also teaches web design and development in the Department of Communication Design at CSU, Chico.

What is your favorite art medium?

Graphite is my absolute favorite art medium. I've been drawing since I was seven years old with the intention of being an artist someday. Though that didn't turn out to be my day job, I still make time on a regular basis to create new pieces or just doodle in my sketch journal. I can't imagine a life without art!

Best dream job?

'What? Web development isn't your dream job,' you ask? While I do love what I do, my dream job would actually be having my own business as a full time artist, while doing freelance web development from time to time to stay current with web trends.

And your favorite pet?

While I love both cats and dogs alike, my favorite pet is my cat Sancho (aka Sanchito-Bandito, because he's a thief of small objects). He's a black Siamese with an uncanny ability to learn new and unusual things quickly, including brushing my hair with his claws immediately after watching it done. And who doesn't love a cat who plays fetch?
