Training: Safe Zone 1 Ally Training

The mission of the Chico State Safe Zone program is to challenge homophobia, transmisogyny, cis- and heterosexism on the university campus and community by encouraging welcoming and inclusive environments for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer or Questioning, and Asexual (LGBTQ+) students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Safe Zone 1: An Introduction to the LGBTQ+ Community

In this workshop you will learn about the history of the Safe Zone program, basic historical information about the LGBTQ+ community, discussions about various identities and community characteristics, psychosocial well-being and the coming out process, and inclusive language for working with the community.
