About EADS

EADS is responsible for enterprise-wide computing applications and data services that support core University business processes. Organizationally, the department is compromised of Enterprise Applications, Applications and Data Services (which includes the Data Warehouse), and Distributed Learning Technologies.  Functionally, those units provide services related to Enterprise Applications, Identity and Access Management, Web Applications, Data Warehousing, and Distributed Learning Applications.  The EADS Organizational Chart visually demonstrates how these services are provided across the EADS department.
A short but non-comprehensive list of the applications and services supported by the dedicated staff in EADS includes CMS PeopleSoft (HR, Student, Student-Finance, and Self Service modules), Blackboard Learn (and related technologies), Chico State Portal, WildcatMail (student e-mail and Google Apps accessed from within the Portal), Insight and CRA enterprise reporting services, Registry (homegrown identity management repository), OpenLDAP directory, Central Authentication Services (CAS), Shibboleth federated identity provider, and IBM Cognos Data Manager (data warehouse infrastructure tool).
Current major projects include the Identity and Access Management Initiative (IAM), the Data Warehouse Initiative, and the Privileged Access Management project (PAM).

Technology Planning Involvement

EADS staff members serve on CSU, Chico technology planning committees such as University Technology Advisory Committee (UTAC), and also serve on several CSU system technology planning committees including CSU Technical Architecture Group (TAG) and CSU CMS Technical User Group (TUG).
