EADS is responsible for enterprise-wide computing applications and data services that support core University business processes. Organizationally, the department is compromised of the Enterprise Applications unit, the Data Warehouse unit, and the Distributed Learning Technologies unit. Functionally, those units provide services related to Enterprise Applications, Identity and Access Management, Web Applications, Data Warehousing, and Distributed Learning Applications. The EADS Organizational Chart visually demonstrates how these services are provided across the department/units.
A short but non-comprehensive list of the applications and services supported by the dedicated staff in EADS includes CMS PeopleSoft HR and Self Service modules, Blackboard Learn (and related technologies), Chico State Portal, WildcatMail (student e-mail and Google Apps accessed from within the Portal), Confluence campus wiki, Insight enterprise reporting services, Registry (homegrown identity management repository), OpenLDAP directory, Central Authentication Services (CAS), Shibboleth federated identity provider, and IBM Cognos Data Manager (data warehouse infrastructure tool).
Technology Planning Involvement
EADS staff members serve on several CSU, Chico technology planning committees including University Technology Advisory Committee (UTAC), Accessible Technology Initiative (ATI), Chico Information Systems Committee (CISC), and Web Content Committee (WCC). EADS staff members also serve on several CSU system technology planning committees including CSU Technical Architecture Group (TAG) and CSU CMS Technical User Group (TUG).
