Validation services are useful for checking the HTML you have against accepted standards and for investigating other areas in your code, such as cross-browser compatibility. Use them!

However, CGI script names must have a file extension of .cgi Example: myscript.cgi. Locally, cgi programs can be written in C, Perl, Java, or UNIX shell scripts. Scripts should have group read, execute, world read, execute permissions set on them.
It is assumed that you are familiar with one of these development tools before implementing cgi in your Web area. You may find the links below helpful in your programming endeavors.
