M.S. in Computer Science

Program goals are general statements of what the program intends to accomplish. Our program goals describe the knowledge, skills, and values expected of graduates and are consistent with the mission of the program and the mission of the institution. Within five years of graduation, alumni of the M.S. in Computer Science degree program at California State University, Chico should:

  • (Cognitive) Have the necessary skills and knowledge to independently conduct in-depth investigative work, with replicative and verifiable results, in selected sub-areas of computing/technology
  • (Performance/skills) Be conducting successful careers or pursuing further postgraduate studies while adapting to emerging markets and technologies
  • (Values/affective) Understand the ethical and technical context of their professional obligations and lifelong contributions to the development of local, national, and global economies
