Kanter, Billie E
Administrative Support Coordinator
Department of Economics
Billie brings to the department knowledge about the University from her 35+ years of working at CSU, Chico. She graduated from there with a major in sociology, a minor in psychology, and a secondary teaching credential. Realizing teaching wasn't for her but being around and helping students was important, she sought a job on campus. In August 1971, she was hired in Social Work and remained there until she joined the Economics Department in January 2005.
Billie is married to a professor on campus and has a son, daugher-in-law, and two grandsons in Sparks, Nevada. She is active in her community belonging to various organizations including volunteering in hospice work and the local public radio station, KCHO. She is also an avid cyclist who twice has ridden the California AIDS Ride from San Fancisco to Los Angeles. She also ushers at many of the cultural events held on campus and encourages all to attend.
