The Smale Awards :
Each year, the Department of Economics honors its most outstanding graduate(s) with the Smale Award, named for Dr. John G. Smale, Jr., Professor Emeritus and the founder of CSUC's Department of Economics. Mr. and Mrs. Smale (see photo below) proudly present this award each year in an informal ceremony the day before graduation. The following graduates are the most recent recipients of the Smale Award. While at CSUC, they distinguished themselves as outstanding scholars and continue to excel in their chosen fields.
