Matt was attracted to Chico State in 1993 by some of his family in the area and the opportunities for extracurricular activities like running and mountain biking. When asked why he liked Chico, Matt responded, "You could go 5 minutes and get anywhere, 10 minutes and be nowhere!" Matt is currently the Director of Sales, Wholesale Services in Little Falls, New Jersey for Covista Communications, Inc. Click here to view Matt's comments on how his job relates to the field of Economics. Matt was attracted to the Economics degree because it is "general enough to be useful in any industry and analytical enough to be applied in a specific industry." Some of Matt's hobbies and activities include running, working out, playing guitar, writing songs and drinking fine wine. Two of his favorite school memories from Chico State were interacting with Professor Eckalbar and Professor Perelman. A few of his favorite memories in the surrounding Chico area are Lake Oroville, Mt. Lassen wilderness area, riding his mountain bike, Bidwell Park and Bidwell Perk. For future career plans, Matt is interested in executive level management. Some of his life plans include marriage, family, world travel (Europe, South America), training for a marathon in 2002, returning to school for an MBA-Finance/JD or Ph.D. in Economics in five to ten years.
