Mission Statement: The Department of Education promotes passion for learning, respect for the individual, and service to society. Collaborating with K-14 educators and university partners, we prepare professional educators to improve the quality of life through education.

Goals: Department of Education faculty and staff focus on:

1. Understanding and communicating the importance of education in a democracy,
2. Providing quality programs and services for educator preparation and professional development,
3. Collaborating with educators and communities to meet the needs of all students, and
4. Increasing democratic educational practices among us, our candidates, and our partners.
