Integrated Teacher Core

Integrated Teacher Core (ITC) is the CSU, Chico blended program that combines the BA in liberal studies and the Multiple Subject Credential Program for elementary school teachers. University faculty work with classroom teachers and administrators to relate courses to elementary school subjects and teaching practices. School experiences are coordinated with university courses.

What ITC Offers

As an ITC freshman you will join a small cadre, or student learning community, of 20-25 students for some of your university courses. You will quickly make friends among cadre members who are focused on becoming excellent elementary teachers. ITC faculty are available to provide you with individual attention, and the ITC director is your personal academic adviser. Perhaps most importantly, in your first semester you will be placed at a nearby elementary school to work side by side with a Chico teacher to experience the "real-world" of the classroom.

The ITC cadre program extends into your sophomore year. The formal credential program component of ITC begins in the junior year. If you know you are committed to the challenging world of education and you want to study with others who feel the same way, ITC may be the program for you.
