Your Department, CSU, Chico
The EGSC will host their first annual Fall Harvest Festival Fundraiser on Thursday, October 29th at the Chico Women’s Club. There will be a reception with appetizers at 6:00 pm and our activities and entertainment beginning at 7:00 pm. Proceeds from this fundraiser will go alleviate part of the cost of the EGSC Fall Symposium, a regional conference held at CSU, Chico where graduate and undergraduate students across the disciplines, and this year from other campuses as well, are able to present their research and studies to a panel of the peers and a member of the English department faculty. These opportunities will allow graduate students to be more marketable in their endeavors following Chico by giving them valuable experience in a professional conference setting.
Activities
The Fall Harvest Festival is not only a great cause to support, but it is going to be a blast! Everyone is welcome and costumes are encouraged. Here arejust a few activities we have planned so far for the evening:
- For the kids:
- There will be a costume contest held for the little goblins and gouls, so make sure they are dressed in their most gruelsome atire.
- Also we will have candy stations and a dunking for apples booth.
- For the adults:
- We will be holding a raffle with many, many great prizes. To name a few: passes to the Blue Room Theater and Theater on the Ridge, autographed copies of My Hometown Chico and gifts and certificates from many local retailers.
- There will also be a live performance from the Theatre Department’s Tour Troup, directed by Mike Mazur.
- Plus, there will be plenty of refreshments...
Tickets
Ticket price includes non-alcoholic drinks and appetizers. Beer from Sierra Nevada Brewery and wine will be available for an additional cost. Pre-sale tickets are $7.00 each or (4) for $20.00. Tickets at the door will be $10.00 each. So, buy yours today! Please fill out the form below and return it to my box by Friday, October 9th to order your presale tickets.
