Breadth and Perspective Pattern 3:
Theatre Arts

The Theater Arts Pattern is designed for students who, along with the desire to teach English, wish to teach drama classes and/or oversee a school's drama program. Please Note: English Education majors must complete all required courses within both the Core and their chosen Breadth and Perspective Pattern. Also, if you plan to attend Chico State's Credential program, you'll need a few extra classes.

  • Theatre Arts 112 (60): Acting for Non-Majors
  • Theatre Arts 110 (61): Introduction to Theater
  • Theatre Arts 120 (70): Stagecraft--2 credits (concurrent enrollment in THEA 173)
  • Theatre Arts 205 (173): Scene/Light Practice--1 credit
  • Theatre Arts 250 (180*): Textual Analysis for Production 
  • English 534 (294): Literature, Language, Composition: A Synthesis (ENGL 124, ENGL 175, ENGL 210)

*THEA 180 (Directing I) was replaced by THEA 250 (Textual Analysis for Production) in the English Education: Theatre Arts Major as of Fall 2005.
