Sandra M. Flake
Sandra M. Flake’s teaching interests include short fiction and novels, literature by and about women, regional and ethnic literatures, and composition and developmental writing.
She earned her B. A. in English and Secondary Education from St. Catherine University in Minnesota and her Ph.D. in English, with an emphasis on 19th and 20th Century British fiction, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Prior to joining the English Department at Chico State, Flake served as Provost at both CSU, Chico and the University of West Florida and as an academic dean at both the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Prior to her positions in academic administration, she was a faculty member in the General College at the University of Minnesota and a lecturer in the Department of Educational Opportunity at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
