Kendall Leon is an assistant professor of Rhetoric and Composition, with a specialization in Chicanx/Latinx/@ Rhetoric in the English Department at California State University, Chico. She teaches courses on rhetorical theory, professional writing, literacy studies, and composition.

Her teaching and research interests include cultural and community rhetorics, digital and professional writing, writing program administration, service learning pedagogies, and research methodology. She has published on a range of writing and rhetoric related studies in journals such as Writing Program Administration, Community Literacy Journal, and Reflections: A Journal of Public Rhetoric, Civic Writing and Service Learning, as well as various edited collections. Her article on archival research, “Chicanas Making Change: Institutional Rhetoric and the Comisión Femenil Mexicana Nacional,” was selected to be included in Parlor Press’s Best of the Independent Rhetoric and Composition Journals.

As a first-generation college student Chico State alum, Dr. Leon is especially thrilled to be teaching back at her alma mater, working at an amazingly diverse and supportive campus community!
