I coordinate the Certificate in Literary Editing and Publishing, a 25-unit program designed to prepare students for careers in publishing. I teach courses in manuscript editing, literary editing, and chapbook production, and I coordinate internships in editing. One of my great pleasures is guiding students through the publications process on Watershed literary magazine and the chapbook (a small book of poetry or fiction) we produce through Flume Press at CSU, Chico. My background work includes working for a scholarly publisher, freelance copyediting, and founding a literary publishing company. I write reviews of literary magazines and books of poetry and fiction for The Small Press Review and The Small Magazine Review on a regular basis, and my research focuses on the history of publishing in America and current trends in publishing.
