Dorothy Barresi is the author of The Post-Rapture Diner
(1996), which won an American Book Award, and All of the Above (1991), which won
the Barnard College New Women Poets Prize. Her third collection of poetry is
forthcoming from the University of Pittsburgh Press. Her poems and essays have
appeared in numerous literary journals, including The Harvard Review, Gettysburg
Review, Poetry, Parnassus, and The Antioch Review. She is
the recipient of Fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Fine Arts Work
Center in Provincetown, and the North Carolina Arts Council, and she has won a Pushcart
Prize. From 1994-1997 she served as a judge for the Los Angeles Times Book Award in
Poetry. She is currently Chair of the Creative Writing Option in the English Department of
California State University, Northridge.
