Rick
Mitchell is the author of numerous plays, including Potlatch,
American Labor, Cruising the Caribbean: Old Pleasures in
the New World, and Reason of Insanity. He has received
awards from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts and the Puffin Foundation
and has appeared professionally on television in Comedy Tonight and
in a production of his own play, Stand-Up Comic. One reviewer
of his work has called him "a modern day Brecht" and another
has praised his work for "a recognition of the humor endemic to
the situations Mitchell writes about, as well as. . .the horror and
absurdity." He taught at New York University and the University
of New Haven prior to his appointment at CSU, Northridge.
