Program Aministration

As lead campus, CSU, Chico will receive and process applications, coordinate admissions functions, provide a graduate coordinator, arrange for multi-campus advising as necessary, and provide admission lists to all consortium campuses. The Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts at Chico will serve as liaison administrator for the degree program. One faculty member from each consortium campus will serve as a member of the MFA Advisory Committee to perform functions such as the following:

The MFA Graduate Coordinator will serve as chair of the MFA Advisory Committee. The MFA Advisory Committee will add an MFA graduate student representative after the program's initial year of operation.

Office of Graduate and International Programs
The Office of Graduate and International Programs will process MFA applications according to its established practices. It will forward applications to the MFA Coordinator, who in turn will have them copied and sent to faculty members of the Advisory Committee at each campus. Graduate Programs is responsible for admissions and records for all program participants. Progress through classified and candidate status, creative project review, and graduation clearances are also the responsibility of the Office.

Dean of Humanities
The Interim Dean of Humanities and Fine Arts, Chico, Sarah Blackstone will work with the MFA Coordinator and act as administrative liaison with the Deans at participating campuses, so that together they may resolve potential administrative questions especially during the initial years of the program's operation.

Campus Coordinator
The rotating Campus Coordinator oversees orientation, housing, and other services particular to the campus at which the summer session takes place in a given year. Depending on the campus, the Campus Coordinator may be from Continuing/Extended Education, Housing, or the academic department.

The MFA Coordinator will be responsible for planning and executing, with the other members of the MFA Advisory Committee, the academic program. Carole Oles, Creative Writing Coordinator for CSU, Chico, will serve as the MFA Coordinator.
