Exemplary Online Instruction

Proposals/Recognition for Exemplary Online Instruction (EOI)

Each year, Chico State wishes to recognize faculty who are exemplary in their online teaching efforts (for fully online, hybrid, and blended courses).  Courses may be self- or peer nominated.  Course may be taught at any time during the academic year, but the complete nomination process is due by the end of the spring semester (the deadline is May 15). Courses that are nominated for Chico State’s EOI are also automatically considered for CSU system wide recognition. The nomination process is as follows:

  1. Faculty self-nominate or peer-nominate a class. The nomination process can be initiated by completing a self-evaluation (Google Doc)
  2. After self evaluation is completed and submitted, the EOI committee will review the applications.  This will occur after the deadline in May. The committee will then invite nominees to present their courses to the committee and to answer questions for clarifications about their online course.
  3. Course(s) selected for local EOI recognition will be awarded a certificate at the subsequent CELT conference in the fall.  System wide awardees will be recognized via webinar and via the QOLT Online Resource Repository

More information, including a 1 hour information webinar about the process, can be found on the QOLT Awards and Recognition program(opens in new window)
