Student Support Services

 

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally-funded program that provides opportunities for academic, social, and cultural development for students. The goal of the SSS program at CSU, Chico is to provide services that will enhance student success. By participating in SSS, students meet the university’s requirements while also fulfilling their educational, career, and personal goals. SSS provides services such as academic, personal, financial, career planning, and study skills development.

Eligibility for TRiO Student Support Services is determined by federal regulations. To qualify, a student must be a U.S. Citizen or a permanent resident; intend to enroll at CSU, Chico or be a current CSU, Chico student; and meet one of the following:

Meet low-income requirements, be a first-generation college student, or have a documented disability.

Applications can be obtained in the EOP/SSS office, Student Services Center Room 310, or may be downloaded here. Acceptance into SSS is based on space availability, as well as the specific eligibility noted above. Students may apply at anytime during the year (priority is given to those students who meet the initial fall deadline) and applications are reviewed on a continuous basis. When space is not available, eligible students are placed on a waiting list.

Mission Statement - The mission of Student Support Services (SSS) is to improve the retention, graduation, and graduate and professional school enrollment rates of eligible students who are receiving project services.
