Outdoor Barbecue Locations and Instructions

Student Clubs and Organization events are processed through the Student Activities office; all other events are processed through Facility Reservations.

- An Application for Food Serving Permit must accompany the Facility/Equipment Reservation Form if you intend to barbecue. Both forms can be obtained from the departments mentioned above. Receive assistance from these departments in filling out the forms.

- When filling out the Facility and Equipment Reservation form, please include on the form your equipment needs as well as the "required" items needed for barbecuing. See the attachment for each approved location and the required items of equipment that you will need to provide a safe barbecue. Additionally, please review the Administrative Policy #A25. The completed forms are then delivered to Facility Reservations in Sierra Hall or sent to zip 116 to be received 10 working days in advance of the event.

- Facilities Reservations will then check to assure the required approvals where obtained. After both forms are approved by Facility Reservations, they will be forwarded to Facilities Management for final approval.

APPROVED OUTDOOR COOKING LOCATIONS AND REQUIRED EQUIPMENT NEEDS

Note: All charcoal barbecues require the appropriate length of hose for that location, a "quill" (the mechanism that fits into the quick coupler and turns on the water) and a metal garbage can that should be used only for disposal of hot charcoal. Propane grills require a (5) five-pound fire extinguisher.

On the Facility/Equipment Reservation form you can request to have Facilities Mgmt. deliver the garbage can for charcoal disposal directly to the approved location along with your other equipment needs. The requesting group must check out a hose and water quill from Facilities Management's Central Supply, located at 940 West First Street. Please check out the appropriate hose length and quill size as indicated on the list on the next page or fire extinguisher if using propane grill. The group would then be required to return the hose and water quill directly to Central Supply either that day or the following morning. Please make note that Central Supply will not check anything out after 3:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Their hours are 7:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. during the academic school year. Summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. and Friday, 6:00 a.m. through 10:00 a.m.
