  1.  Page numbers added
  2. Added/revised language regarding significant difference from Minor (pg. 2).
    1. In contrast, the Minor in Marketing is available to admitted Chico State students while this Certificate could be completed by others as well, as well as non-Business Chico State students.  The tighter focus and its associated theoretical and practical learning opportunities will also better differentiate the more rigorous Certificate and better prepare students to excel in today’s demanding work environment.”

    1. Pg. 7: “Note: the GPA requirements apply to all students, including transfer and international exchange students.”
    2. Pg. 9: “For all students (e.g. existing Chico State students, transfer students, exchange students),”
  4. Certificate does not require ongoing accreditation
    1. Pg 1: “The program is a stand-alone program that does not require on-going accreditation
    2. Pg. 2: “The proposed certificate is a key component of the Department of Finance and Marketing’s Professional Sales Program which requires no ongoing accreditation.”
  5. Typos fixed.

No discussion.  The resolution was passed- unanimously. Item will go on March 12 Senate Agenda

5. Introduction item: EM 92-13

Meredith Kelley, Vice Provost for Enrollment Management, Bruce Rowan, Assistant Vice Provost, and Misty Cannon, Lead CMS facilitator for the Degree Progress Report were available to answer questions.  Additional wording added regarding calculation of the Major and Minor GPA.

Berry addressed clarification of item #1 regarding requirements of course repetition.  Ford suggested adding “legally” repeats a course.  Suggestion to remove “failing” of major and minor course grades.  Question regarding the software catching illegal repeats, Cannon stated the software excludes illegal repeats.  Clarification regarding EO 1037 and EM 92-13; EO 1037 will supersede EM 92-13, however Berry and subcommittee will carry over language from EM 92-13 to EO 1037.  Clarification of legal repeats was asked by Ponarul. Wording changed:
“When a student legally repeats a course with or without forgiveness the highest grade earned will be used.”
Edelmann asked when this will become effective.  Crotts clarified this EM will become effective next fall unless there is an exception from the President to become effective earlier.  Wyrick suggested adding “all” or “any” before major or minor course.  “Any” was accepted.  Cannon clarified that Academic Dishonesty is not automatically detected, the course and grade needs to be flagged.  Berry mentioned that in the past a list of Academic Dishonesty cases has been given to CMS.  Clean up of wording by adding Major or Minor to title and removing instances throughout statement.

Introduction item revision passed unanimously.
