4. New Certificate: Enterprise Information Systems – Action Item
Representatives indicated that they had responded to EPPC’s suggestions for changes including checking and clearing up prerequisite issues. Concern was raised that CSUC MBA students would not be able to obtain this certificate. Representatives indicated that with some course substitutions, MBA students would be able to earn this certificate if they wished.
            Passed unanimously

5. Reorganization: Modern Jewish and Israel Studies (BA and Minor)—Action Item
Wyrick presented a revised proposal that responded to EPPC’s recommendations from last meeting. Discussion included a reminder that the only action being taken was the movement of the BA and Minor to the College of Humanities and Fine Arts from the School of Graduate, International, and Interdisciplinary Studies. At this time there are no proposed changes to the requirements for the BA or Minor.
            Passed unanimously

6. Change to EM 99-03: Writing Proficiency Course Criteria—Action Item
EPPC members expressed concern that affected departments had not been notified that EPPC was acting on the change in the Writing Proficiency Course Criteria. Geosciences and Foreign Languages do not have 3 or 4 unit writing proficiency courses. Because of this concern, Berry moved to postpone action on this item. Ellingson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

7. Name Change:  Entrepreneurship and Small Business Mgmt. Pattern to: The Option in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management--Introduction Item
Moved as Introduction Item by Crotts and seconded by Chiang
Entrepreneurship representatives indicated their desire to do this comes from students wanting their degrees to reflect their actual course work. This change will assure that their degrees indicate the Option in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management. Elevating the pattern to an option also will increase the visibility of the course of study.
Passed unanimously

8. New  Minor:  Minor in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management – Introduction Item
Tinkler moved the new minor as an Introduction Item and Crotts seconded
There was a good deal of discussion about the proposed minor. Several recommendations were offered concerning changes to the 6 units required for Domain Knowledge. Members of EPPC want to make sure that all affected departments had been or will be consulted.
Passed unanimously as an Introduction Item

9. Name Change:  The Certificate in the Theory and Practice of College Composition to: The Certificate in Teaching Writing—Introduction Item
Berry moved it as an Introduction Item and was seconded by Tinkler
There was some discussion regarding the awkwardness of the certificate name. A few different suggestions were made. One suggestion was to change the title to The Certificate in Teaching College Writing.
Passed unanimously as an Introduction Item

10. Significant Change: Master of Arts in English—Introduction Item
Berry moved it as an Introduction Item and Ellingson seconded
There were some formatting errors and inconsistencies that representatives said they would take care. There was also a 200-level course included in the curriculum. If it was a typo, it just needs to be corrected, but if not, the 200-level course is not acceptable for graduate level curriculum and would have to be changed.
Passed unanimously as an Introduction Item.

11. No new items.
12. Adjourned: 4:20 PM

Respectfully submitted,
Lori Beth Way
