-Tropea:  The speech and advocacy committee is getting input from the ACLU, which is active in Chico due to the disorderly event ordinance.
-One issue to come before FASP:  a student organization EM
-Another issue to come before FASP:  reconciling the two different alcohol policies.
-Battle:  there is a blood drive on Wednesday.

  1. Modification of EM 06-01 The Campus Climate CommitteeIntroduction Item

-Moved by Trailer, seconded by Houston.
-Discussion:  Yudell asked about the first item on the recommendations, and about the evidence of problems with harassment on campus.  Mills responded that the first recommendation was not in the new EM and that answers to the second question should come from a member of the climate committee at the next meeting of FASP.  Mills relayed Postma’s comments about the membership structure of the EM.  Postma thought that “permanent” members should actually be titled “ex officio”.  He further thought that the new members should be ex officio and not on staggered two year terms.  Trailer indicated his support for Postma’s recommendations.  Edebiri indicated that the appropriate representative from AS would be the Commissioner for Community Affairs.  Tropea asked what the committee actually does.  Mills responded that a member of the committee should answer that question next meeting.
-Passed unanimously as introduction item.

  1. Form sub-committee addressing compliance of the FPPP manual with the CBA

-Tropea and Kotar volunteered.  Other names mentioned as possible non-FASP members included Rich Soares and Marc Siegall.
-Mills:  the committee will likely also consider how faculty peer-evaluation of online courses should be addressed.

  1. Form sub-committee on textbook ordering (Steve Dubey, A.S. Bookstore Manager)

-Yudell and Steiner volunteered.  Other names mentioned included Corral, Smith from AS.
