VP Student Affairs
Drew Calandrella joined CSU, Chico in July 2006 as vice president for Student Affairs. The division of Student Affairs includes Associated Students, Bell Memorial Union, Career Planning and Placement, Disability Support Services, Educational Opportunity Program, Financial Aid and Scholarship, Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports, Counseling, Wellness and Testing, Student Activities, Student Health Service, Student Judicial Affairs, and University Housing and Food Service.
Calandrella comes to Chico from Rowan University in New Jersey, where he served as the vice president since 2000. His accomplishments as vice president include developing a first-year program, implementing a campus master plan for dining services, restructuring the Greek Life program, renovating and constructing new student housing and enhancing campuswide enrollment management and retention services. Prior to serving as vice president at Rowan, Calandrella was vice president for enrollment and student academic services for Sonoma State University from 1998 to 2000. He also held several administrative positions at Sonoma from 1986 to 1998. Calandrella has a BA in psychology and MEd in student personnel and guidance from the College of New Jersey and completed all but a dissertation in the Higher Ed Administration doctoral program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
