Faculty and Staff Assistance Program
The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) is a confidential counseling program that provides assessment, assistance and referral to additional services.
At one time or another each of us experiences a problem which, though perhaps not directly related to our employment, may adversely affect our work performance. Most of these times we deal effectively with such problems independently, but sometimes personal problems require outside help and guidance. Whether the issue is of a personal, health, or work-related nature, or involves a family member, friend, or someone at work, a professional therapist is available to discuss the concerns with you.
The FSAP serves as a confidential referral program to assist individuals in their efforts to address personal problems which may negatively impact work performance. This is a voluntary and free service provided to employees and their immediate family members. Eligible employees include CSU, Chico state employees.
The program includes up to three sessions with a professional licensed psychologist who will, with mutual agreement of the client, determine if further counseling or other assistance could be beneficial, and refer client to local resources. The decision to seek outside services, and any subsequent fees, are the client’s decision and responsibility. Some fees for referral services may be covered by employee medical benefits.
The University recognizes that members of its faculty and staff are its most valuable resource and that success in attaining its goals is dependent on their well-being and productivity.
Every effort is made to keep all calls, inquiries, and appointments confidential.
