Campus & Community Town Hall Meetings

The First-Year Experience Program recently supported the planning and delivery of a Town Hall that begin with collaboration between members of our campus and members of the Chico community. This fall's Town Hall (held on October 14th, 2009) focused on local issues of homelessness and mental health. It was an active, problem-solving session at which interested campus and community members sat down together to learn about local issues affecting the lives of and services for our homeless community members and those seeking support for mental health issues.

The Town Hall discussion of issues of homelessness and mental health was tied to the Community Reading choice: The Soloist, the ’09-’10 Book in Common for CSU, Chico and the City of Chico.
